Our History

The roots of our Law Firm go back to the beginning of the last century. Since then prestigious jurists as Dr. Alvaro Vargas Guillemette, el Dr. Arturo Lerena Acevedo and Dr. Eduardo Vargas Garmendia have been part of it.

In 1982 the Firm was named “Vargas Guillemette & Lerena Acevedo” and in 1994 the association of three law firms becomes a reality: “Vargas Guillemette & Lerena Acevedo”, “Estudio Dr. Eduardo Ríos Márquez” and “Estudio Jurídico Beceiro”. 

The latter started by virtue of a traditional family of jurists from the city of Paysandú, that has its roots in 1928 when Dr. Demócrito Beceiro started his activity as a lawyer and established a law firm in the above mentioned city together with his brother, the Notary Public Mr. Victor Beceiro. In addition to his remarkable trajectory as a lawyer, Dr. Demócrito Beceiro promoted significant social and education projects, that made him an important reference of the society of Paysandú.

In 2006 the law firm, located in a historic scenario of the city of Montevideo, is purchased by Dr. Carlos Beceiro Castro, Dr. Gustavo Trípodi and Dr. Beatriz Tejera.  Thereon the name of the law firm changes to “Beceiro  Trípodi  Tejera & Asociados”.
